Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (RCSS), the flagship of Rajagiri Vidyapeetham and eldest child of the CMI (Carmelites of Mary Immaculate) educational network, owes its existence to the visionary CMI fathers inspired by 19th-century reformer St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara, who manage over 800 schools, 41 arts/science colleges, 4 engineering colleges, a medical college, a university, and numerous specialized institutions across India.
