In 1981, the society took over the Nightingale Matriculation High School. The SRM Group ventured into higher education with the launch of the Valliammai Polytechnic. SRM Engineering College came into being in the year 1985. It is one of the prestigious institutions in Science and Technology. As new branches were added every year, the College grew into a full-fledged engineering college encompassing all disciplines of technical education.
