Highlights This course is designed to provide broad-based and up-to-date technical training that is relevant to current cardiac clinical practice. The areas in which training is provided include electrocardiography, treadmill stress testing, 24-hour ambulatory ECG monitoring (Holter), cardiac catheterization laboratory technology and electrophysiology. The course includes theory classes, practical “hands on” training and periodic evaluations. Candidates successfully completing the course will be adequately equipped to independently provide technical assistance at any advanced cardiac centre.

About us
The Christian Medical College is an unaided, non-captitation, Christian minority educational institution admitting students on merit on an all-India basis. The Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore was established and is maintained by the Christian Medical College Vellore Association, a registered society, formed by over 50 different Indian Christian churches and Christian organisations which run over 225 hospitals, health centres and dispensaries throughout the length and breadth of this country, many of which are situated in remote rural areas. The purpose of the Christian Medical College, therefore, is to train dedicated persons to manage, run and provide health care in the spirit of Christ through the mission hospitals. The motto of the institution is: “Not To Be Ministered Unto, But To Minister” In 2018, the Christian Medical College Vellore proudly celebrated the completion of a hundred years of Medical Education, which began in 1918, bringing to fruition the dream of our visionary founder, Dr. Ida Sophia Scudder.
Programme Outcome & Approaches.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Cardiac Technology is a specialized programme that enables health professionals to develop, gain and refine the practical skills and knowledge required to provide specialized cardiac care. It provides students with the technical expertise and practical experience to work with complex cardiac care machines and to aid in procedures such as ECG, Ecco, catheterization of the heart, support junior doctors and consultants during life saving, heart operations. Cardiac graduates can pursue careers as hospital-based cardiac technologists, in diagnostic clinics, rehabilitation units and research cardiac labs directly involved in patient care and recovery.
The delivery of this program is extremely applied and patient-centered, with students participating in classroom-based learning as well as clinical placements. Students are educated in cardiovascular anatomy, cardiac pharmaceutics, diagnostic procedures, and emergent clinical interventions. The focus is on practical application with lab sessions, internships, and real-world advances in cardiac technologies. This balance of exploration and theoretical learning provides graduates who are fully prepared to approach complex cardiac cases, participate in life-saving interventions and make a meaningful contribution to the enhancement of cardiovascular health.
