The Master of Human Resource and Organisational Development (MHROD) is a specialised postgraduate program that was uniquely designed and launched by the Department of Commerce at the Delhi School of Economics (University of Delhi) in 1995.

It was created as a professional course to meet the rising demand for advanced education in human resource management, organisational behaviour, labour relations, and leadership. Unlike general HR programs, MHROD was tailored with a strong academic and practical orientation, preparing graduates for both corporate and policy-making roles.

Over time, to align with global standards in management education, the program was renamed as MBA (Human Resource Development) by the University of Delhi. Despite the title change, its legacy as the original MHROD continues to be recognised, as it was one of the pioneering HR-focused postgraduate programs in India.
