Highlights 1) The integrated LL.M., Ph.D. programme at NALSAR aims to train skilled legal researchers and enhance teaching and interdisciplinary research in law and social sciences. 2) Eligible candidates must have a B.A., LL.B., LL.B., or equivalent degree with at least 65% aggregate marks, those with an LL.M. from other institutions can also apply. 3) The programme lasts a minimum of four years, with up to one year extension allowed for completing the doctoral thesis. 4) Admission is based on academic performance (15%), written test (30%), statement of purpose (10%), writing sample (30%), and interview (15%). 5) The written test covers essay questions on Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, Law and Society, and related subjects. 6) Applicants must submit at least two letters of recommendation from academic or professional supervisors; applications missing these will not be considered.
LLM Ph.D (Integrated)
The integrated LL.M., Ph.D. programme at NALSAR is envisioned as a unique experiment and is designed to enhance the quality of personnel available for legal research in India. The programme will also build capacities for teaching and interdisciplinary research in the law and social sciences. The objective is to provide a structured pathway for bright law graduates to progress towards a research degree while being given meaningful academic and logistical support. A LL.M. degree with a specialization in Legal Pedagogy and Research would be an interim qualification as part of this integrated programme.
Duration: 4yrs
The integrated course will be spread over a minimum period of four years. In exceptional cases, a candidate will be allowed an extension of one more year to complete the Doctoral Thesis, if the Research Committee is satisfied with the progress made.
